Mechanical seal repair error summary

Core tip: there are four main kinds of machinery seal parts: A. Mainly seal:rotate ring and static ring. B. The auxiliary seal: seal ring. C. Pressure: springs, ring. D. Drive parts : play basket and key or fixed screw.
Mechanical seal work problems should be paid attention:


1, The matters needing attention when you install mechanical seals


A. Be very careful to avoid during the installation of the installation of the deviation
(1) To tighten the gland should be performed after coupling alignment, the bolt should be uniform, prevent gland face skewed, with a feeler gauge to check each point, the error is not more than 0.05 mm.
(2) Check the fit clearance of gland with shaft or sleeve diameter (namely) of concentricity, wants even all round, with a feeler check each point tolerance is not more than 0.01 mm.
B. The spring compression quantity according to provisions, there is no too big or too small, request error is 2.00 mm.Will increase the end face specific pressure, and the other end surface wear.Starts to cause low pressure than not sealing effect.
C. Ring but after installation to ensure can flexible movement, the shaft will ring after pressure to the spring should be able to bounce back automatically.


2, Note to remove the mechanical seal


A. Carefully when removing mechanical seal, it is forbidden to use the hammer and flat, so as not to damage the sealing element.To do a pair of steel wire hook, on a self-financing direction into the driving seat gaps, pull the sealing device.If the scale removing not bottom, should be cleaned before disassembly.
B. If on both ends of the pump mechanical seal, in assembly, disassembly process to take care of each other, to prevent the attend.
C. Mechanical seal, which had run for every gland loose moves in the seal, the dynamic and static ring parts must be replaced, should not be to tighten the continue to use again.


Mechanical seal normal operation and maintenance issues:


1. Mechanical seal before the start of preparation and the matters needing attention


A. Overhaul mechanical seal, and the accessory devices and pipeline installation is complete, meets the technical requirements.
B. Before starting the mechanical seal to static pressure test, check whether there is mechanical seal leakage phenomenon.If the leakage is more, should find out the reason to try to eliminate.If still invalid, should remove check and reinstall.General hydrostatic test pressure in 2 ~ 3 kg/cm2.
C. The pump rotate to turning, check whether the light evenly.Such as turning demanding or not move, should check whether assembly size error, installation is reasonable.


2. Mechanical seals installation and service


A. Before the start of sealed cavity filled with liquid shall be maintained.For solidification of the medium, the application of steam heat seal chamber to melt medium.Prior to start turning, in order to prevent sudden start caused by the soft ring fracture.
B. To use WaiFeng oil pump system of mechanical seal, should start the sealing oil system.Stop after the last stop in sealing system.
C. Hot oil pump stop can't stop immediately after sealing oil cavity and end face seal cooling water, should be end face seal oil temperature has dropped below 80 degrees, can stop the cooling water, so as not to damage the sealing parts.


3. The mechanical seal


A. After pump start-up if there is a slight leakage phenomenon, should be observed for a period of time.Such as 4 hours of continuous running, still don't reduce the leakage, should stop the pump to check.
B. The operating pressure of the pump should be smooth, the pressure fluctuation is not more than 1 kg/cm2.
C. Pump in operation, should avoid to occur, in order to avoid damage in seal face dry friction and sealing.
D. Seal condition check regularly.In operation, when the leak than standard, heavy oil is not more than 5 drops per minute, light oil is not more than 10 / points, such as 2-3 days still no improvement, you should stop the pump to check the sealing device.
